How “Forbidden” Digital Content Comes

Dear readers, you don’t have to be honest with me, it is totally fine 😅
But have you ever wondered, how it happens? From original source until this digital content comes to our d̶i̶r̶t̶y̶ hand ?
It begins from the Top Site. Noooo, it is not a website that has highest rating in the entire world, no. In fact it is actually FTP (File Transfer Protocol) servers. Distributed FTP Servers from private computers around the world. They are organized by what we know as “Scene”.
There are many top sites (not that many actually). They are so discrete, secretive, but most of them are connected to each other. One scene group releases their stuff in one ftp site. The others will instantly grab this release and put this in their directory. The announcement and communication is done in the IRC channel. In fact, some of top sites are even racing to show who is the most l33t and the fastest in having prime releases.
Then some of the site members, who mostly are also part of private trackers community, will post the new stuff as torrent.
What happen next is that, while some people will share it on public torrent tracker, some mother-flowers-moron with money oriented will download from torrent and upload them into direct-download-site which is wrapped by multiple advertisement links. And I bet that finally how you got your lovely movie in your harddisk.
How do you join private torrent trackers?
Invite only. You need to know somebody who is a member and able to invite you. You also need to spend some effort (or money), because they have strict rule. Anything you download, you have to reseed. Otherwise you will be banned. And in order to reseed, you either have to seed the files from your PC with high speed internet 24/7, or you rent a server in data center anonymously.
How do you join topsites?
You can’t. Seriously you can’t. Try searching keyword in google topsite fbi You will realize how serious the issue is and how private the community is, as if they DONT EXIST IN THIS WORLD.
I am not buying this bullsh!t.
̶I̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶(̶a̶r̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ ̶2̶0̶0̶9̶-̶2̶0̶1̶3̶)̶ Many other topsites are still running in the background and nobody can catch them even until today. It is up to you to believe this or not 😏
How is your private view in piracy?
I am Software Engineer. I know how blood and sweat came out from the guy who sits behind desk 16 hours per day to release the project on time. Therefore I mostly buy original software that I need. But of course I always look for the cheapest one and in discounts. All my windows 10 are genuine licensed, as well Office 2019.
Games? I do download pirated games. I want to play them first before buying if they don’t have demo. If they are worth the price, I usually purchase them. Animal Crossing New Horizons in Nintendo Switch, I finished the game first in CFW, then bought the game officially, and re-play again from beginning.
In fact I have large collection of original games in Steam (> 100 games), which most of them I don’t play, or don’t get to play completely, because new games keep showing up 😙
But I don’t have money to buy licensed software and games…
In my humble opinion, if you can’t afford it then don’t buy it ( ̶k̶e̶e̶p̶ ̶u̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶f̶r̶e̶e̶). But if you are blessed with paycheck every month, please consider to support the developers.
